Educational
policy-making, planning and management are the Institute’s
major interests. These cover both formal and non-formal
education. Action-research is promoted. It mainly covers
basic and adult education, science and technology for rural
development especially with women’s participation, democratic
decentralization (Panchayat Raj), and micro-planning for
