Located at the Vidyanagari campus of Bombay University, this
urban centre is named by the Institute after an eminent
thinker and social worker. The programme of this Centre
includes urban educational studies. It networks NGOs
experimenting with alternative educational processes,
particularly in basic education, adult literacy and non-formal
education of various types. Its area of operation is Mumbai
metropolitian area and the tribal pockets of the nearby
districts Thane and Raigad. A project for organizing
creativity programmes in arts, crafts, science and technology,
language learning, and so on has been recently formulated at
this Centre. This would cover both children and adults. |
